About Tim Hess

Last semester, I taught a high level 3D Modeling class (COSC 420: 3D Production) at the University of Baltimore on the Universities at Shady Grove campus. In this course, I taught advanced 3D modeling techniques, materials, lighting, and special effects required for use in final project game environments. I emphasized the teamwork experience necessary for working in a game studio setting complete with art directors and use of the Art Bible/Style Guide. I also showed them how to make portfolio-ready projects and present them in an online portfolio.
3D Production syllabus

I recently graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a MA in Interactive Design and Game Development. During my studies, I concentrated on creating 3D models and building environments for games and simulations. My passion is creating environments and game assets and teaching others to do the same. I have expertise in 3D modeling, applying materials, lighting, and special effects. I am looking for a position teaching digital art and game design classes at the college level.
